Luckenbooth Mug December 13, 2010

D-Celtic Claddagh Mug

I have to apologize for the terrible picture.  This was one of my early “engravings" done with Armour Acid-Etch.  I covered the mug with clear contact paper and cut away the sections to be exposed to the acid.  It’s a process that works pretty well, although getting all the lines cleanly cut can be a pain.  Jagged contact paper means jagged frosted sections!  Anyway, I made this in college for Lowell when we were first dating.  It’s got a luckenbooth symbol– two hearts entwined with a crown- on either side of the handle and a round Celtic knot on the front as well as a Celtic border along the top.
