Bellydancer Necklace June 5, 2008

This was one of my first big projects and still one of my favorites. My friend needed some bellydancer bling so I made her a necklace, headdress, anklet, and belt. It’s mostly brass (heavy, but cheap and easy to clean), with purple iris Czech glass beads and brass bells. The center of the necklace is a purple-dyed paua shell. The weave is is a mixture of Persian weaves, which seemed appropriate for a bellydancer outfit even if the weaves don’t have anything to do with Persia.
